Saleh Mirhashemi

#SalehMirhashemi, a 36-year-old athlete and a karate instructor from Isfahan, is another #IranRevolution Protest who was arrested along with four other protestors and was accused of “muharebe” regarding a scenario involved in an “armed group” allegedly responsible for the death of three security officials during protests in Esfahan on 16 November.

Saleh was tortured for a long time to force a confession in a case where there was no evidence against him. Saleh’s father was also detained for a while in order to use him to force Saleh to make a false confession in front of the television.

How to Help:

Reach out to your senators, parliament members, and other representatives and request immediate action to put pressure on the Islamic Republic. Ask them to give political sponsorship to our revolution prisoners who are at risk of the death penalty at any moment. Please help us to stop this crime by raising the political cost of executions for the Islamic regime!

Sample Letter:

The Iranian people have been protesting for freedom, human rights, minority rights, and women’s rights to self-expression since September 16th. The Islamic Republic of Iran has responded with a deadly crackdown, using military artillery to kill hundreds of their citizens across Iran.

The brutal crackdown on Iranian protesters has entered a whole new level. On December 8th and 12th, Mohsen Shekari and Majid Reza Rahnavard, two of the imprisoned protestors, were executed without due process, having access to independent lawyers and the chance to request an appeal. Hundreds are about to receive the death penalty from the regime. [1], [2], [3].
Norbert Röttgen, Ye-One Rhie, Carlos Kasper, and Martin Diedenhofen, members of the German Bundestag, were the first announced to be political sponsors/advocates for a few of the arrested protesters who were sentenced to death. The support of politicians is enormously essential. More attention is drawn to a fate when elected representatives publicly stand up for a political prisoner. The media pick up their advocacy, and this publicity is protection for innocent detainees.

We need your support and urge you to take prompt action to stop this massacre. This includes:

Step forward for political sponsorships/advocacy for the imprisoned prisoners whose life is in grave danger.

Publicly urge all countries to expel all the regime’s diplomats and recall their ambassadors from Tehran.

Impose immediate sanctions against Supreme Leader Khamenei, as head of the regime, and all associated entities such as IRGC, and designate them as terrorist entities.

Demand that UN experts monitor the situation closely and call on authorities to engage in special procedures to stop execution.

Thank you for your time and attention to this timely, sensitive matter!

Know More About Me:

Saleh’s sisters are constantly threatened by the forces of the Islamic Republic that if they do not remain silent, they will be arrested too.

He not only does not have access to a lawyer, but so far, he has not had any communication with his family outside the prison.
